Honda Malaysia Launches e:N1 EV SUV — Priced from RM149,900

Date:

Honda Malaysia has officially entered the electric vehicle (EV) market with the launch of the Honda e:N1, its first fully electric SUV, priced competitively from RM149,900 on-the-road without insurance. The e:N1 marks a significant milestone in the company’s electrification roadmap, offering Malaysians a locally relevant option for sustainable mobility.

Electric Performance Meets Practicality

Built on Honda’s dedicated e:N Architecture F platform, the e:N1 boasts a powerful 150 kW (204 PS) electric motor delivering 310 Nm of torque. The 68.8 kWh battery pack provides an estimated driving range of up to 500 km on a single charge (NEDC-rated), making it suitable for both urban commuting and longer trips.

Acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h takes just 7.7 seconds, while the SUV’s top speed is electronically limited to 160 km/h.

Advanced Safety and Convenience

Equipped with Honda’s latest Honda SENSING suite, the e:N1 includes a comprehensive array of safety features such as:-

  • Adaptive Cruise Control with Low-Speed Follow
  • Lane Keep Assist System
  • Forward Collision Warning with Collision Mitigation Braking
  • Blind Spot Monitoring
  • Rear Cross Traffic Alert

Notably, the e:N1 replaces Honda’s previous LaneWatch system with Blind Spot Monitoring, enhancing driver awareness based on Malaysian market feedback.

Design and Features

The e:N1 shares a similar silhouette to the third-generation HR-V but incorporates EV-specific design elements and dimensions measuring 4,380 mm in length, 1,790 mm in width, and 1,592 mm in height, with a 2,610 mm wheelbase. The SUV offers a practical 344-liter boot capacity.

The cabin features a modern infotainment system with Android Auto and wireless Apple CarPlay connectivity, ensuring seamless smartphone integration.

Warranty and Service

Honda Malaysia backs the e:N1 with an 8-year/160,000 km warranty on the battery and electric drive system, alongside a 3-year/100,000 km warranty for the vehicle. A free service package covers up to four services within three years or 60,000 km, whichever comes first.

Availability and Future Plans

The first batch of e:N1 units will be fully imported from China (CBU), with deliveries expected to begin in mid-June 2025. Honda Malaysia plans to assemble the e:N1 locally in the future, contingent on government tax incentives being extended beyond 2027.

The Honda e:N1 launch signals a growing commitment to EV adoption in Malaysia, offering a viable, feature-packed SUV option for consumers looking to make the switch to electric.
