The unsung heroes: Nurses who go above and beyond at Seri Manjung Hospital

Nurses at Seri Manjung Hospital receive praise for their kindness and dedication in caring for patients, especially in maternity wards.

Date:

In a heartfelt post on Threads, a woman named Yaya @eiyazakiah recently shared her appreciation for a kind-hearted nurse at Seri Manjung Hospital in Perak, highlighting the often-overlooked but deeply impactful role nurses play in patient care.

While doctors are usually at the forefront of medical attention, nurses—who often work behind the scenes—are the unsung heroes who go the extra mile to support and communicate with patients.

Yaya recalled her experience in the maternity ward, where a nurse’s kindness and dedication stood out.

“Last week, while waiting for the day to give birth, this nurse was so kind. She massaged the back of a patient who was enduring contractions after being induced. It was such a comforting gesture during a difficult time,” Yaya wrote.

“May blessings always flow smoothly, and may good health be granted to her,” she added.

The post quickly garnered attention, with many netizens praising the nurse’s exceptional service.

One user commented, “She’s one in a million,” expressing admiration for the nurse’s selfless care. In the comment section, other users shared their own touching experiences with compassionate nurses, making the post even more wholesome.

Nur Atifah, for instance, recalled how the medical staff at Universiti Sains Malaysia Hospital in Kelantan treated her with care and smiles during her contractions.

“They fulfilled all my requests for painkillers and anti-vomit meds. None of them showed any frustration when I kept calling out because of the pain. Mad respect for them,” she said.

Similarly, Hani Khairi, who gave birth via C-section last year, shared her gratitude towards the nurses at Seri Manjung Hospital.

“I had to lie down for 6 hours without being able to eat or drink. After those 6 hours, it was around 2-3 in the morning, and I was incredibly thirsty. A nurse passed by, and when I asked for water, she didn’t just give me plain water—she made me a warm Milo! I was so touched.

“She even helped me put on my socks and woke me up when needed. The next morning, my husband took over,” Hani recounted.

These stories are a testament to the tireless work and boundless compassion that nurses bring to their roles, making a real difference in the lives of patients during some of their most vulnerable moments.

It’s clear that while doctors may take centre stage, nurses like those at Seri Manjung Hospital are often the silent heroes whose care and kindness deserve recognition.
